We Are Not Leaving Vek'nilash

Yes, our guild will stay on Vek'nilash. Quite a few of the other Horde guilds decided to transfer using the free character transfer either to Zenedar or Haomarush, for reasons not all that clear to us. However, after weighing the options, it was agreed upon that staying on the server seems to be the best option for our guild. It means a need for some adaptation and patience, but we hope that in the long run this will be a good decision. To help the people who decided to stay on the server with us, we would like to inform of the following things.

The remaining Finns on the Horde side can freely make an application to join us. We offer the possibility for some casual activity, and of course there are chances up to semi-HC raids for both 10man and 25man dungeons. See our forums for more details, or contact any of our officers in-game.

And for the rest of the Horde, we have quite a large collection of crafting recipes in our guild that we offer for the use of public, naturally with reasonable crafting fees. Feel free to contact our people with the recipes for your needs. We hope that this will make the following weeks a bit more easier for you and for us, until the population level goes up again. And it will, I am quite certain of that.

Quite a lot of things has happened since the last news update. Most of the small details for our guild you can find from the WoWProgress site, so I will just do a recap of the more noteworthy things. After clearing all of the Trial of the Grand Crusader, including heroic Anub'Rekhan, we have been working on the Icecrown Citadel in both 10man and 25man versions. We are maybe not among the top guilds in the world, but we are still progressing on the encounters steadily. Some new fun with the Ruby Sanctum and the dragons is coming in the future patches, so clearing the Citadel also in heroic mode before that one would be nice. Then again, if the encounters provided there are the only major raid changes left in this expansion, there might not be need for hurrying as such. I guess we will see how that plays out.

Also as you might have noticed, even now the release of the next expansion, Cataclysm, has managed to get people's attention. Many people are already looking toward the changes it brings, and planning what to do when it is released. This collides nicely with the recent changes to Vek'nilash as a server, a change from PvP to PvE server. People are trying to figure out if they should stay on the server to see what the future brings, or take the free possibility to move from the server to one of the available options. So far we as a guild have not decided what to do exactly, but the time for the final decision is close enough.

How I Met Your Old God

It is one of the things that does not happen too often for your average mortal on Azeroth, meeting an Old God and live to say about it. And even more rare are the times when it ends up being just . . . well, legendary.

This time we focus on one of the most flourishing members of us, Deghos, and his success on finally reaching the reward he was chosen to receive as the first one in our guild: Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings. The initial part, collecting the fragments of the shattered hammer of the first Earthen king, naturally took more than a few weeks. And as you know, that is the really easy part of it all. After that we had to gather enough motivated members and go for a challenge that we had not managed to defeat yet, and do this all during the summer when the activity is really not on its highest among our ranks. Achievement such as this is not a little thing for us. So congratulations to Deghos for his new and ancient weapon!

Of course this is not all that has happened since the last news post. The summer time has again affected our news writing and especially raiding activity, but only to a lesser degree as the progress has not totally halted on either 10man or 25man frontiers. Of 25man activity you now know pretty much all the greatest details so far, but the 10man progress in Ulduar has gone forward more swiftly. Two groups have reached Algalon and are at the moment working on him, the devious time limit being the critical progress slowing part here. Many of the people from these two groups also reached Glory of the Ulduar Raider and gained their proto-drakes as as reward.

A Very Scary . . . Late Easter?

Not going to write too many fancy words this time, just a really brief recap of the last couple of weeks. Like you can see from the image, we cleared 25man Ulduar up to and including Yogg-Saron. The competition for the first kills inside Ulduar has been tough even on Vek'nilash, us being the fourth guild to reach this far at the moment. We will see how it will end out when guilds start to dig though the hard mode achievements, but it is good to see that at least the Horde side is really alive and active. And even though we were not the first per se, I think it was the first one on the server with a full bunny team!

Regarding Yogg-Saron, the fight brings a lot of memories from the good old C'thun fight but with a refreshing new twist to things. It is always a pleasure to meet one of them, even though trying to kill them might drive you crazy. Anyhow, this means we have only Algalon left, who requires quite a nice amount of hard modes done before you gain access to him. So those will be of our concern next, and any other achievements we reasonably might be able to gain on our way there. We will see how it goes.
